Disc Mowers

Designed to play tough

Fire ant hills, gopher mounds and thick, wet grasses are no match for New Holland disc mowers. They're designed to breeze through the toughest conditions with non-stop, trouble-free cutting for a clean, even cut in less time.

Now available: three new HM Series economy disc mowers, built for cutting widths from 5 ft. 6 in. to 7 ft. 11 in. These models—the HM234, HM235 and HM236—are perfect for difficult cutting conditions, yet easy on your wallet. They’re compatible with lower horsepower tractors, provide long service life and are easy to maintain. And, their lower overall weight makes hookup easy.

Models 615, 616 and 617

Team a 615, 616 or 617 disc mower with a 45- to 60-horsepower tractor, and you can easily tackle your heaviest-duty jobs. And these models are designed for quiet operation too.

Independent modular cutterbar design has unique modules sealed with their own oil so the cutterbar is not susceptible to catastrophic failure if it strikes an obstruction. If the cutterbar does sustain damage, contamination is minimized since the discs don't share a common, long shaft drive or collective oil bath. There is no chance a broken gear tooth could migrate into other components and cause major damage. Modular design makes repair and replacement easy too.

Smooth profile discs improve crop flow and form fluffier swaths for faster drying. Discs are 3/16 in. thick and heat-treated for strength and impact resistance.

Spring-loaded breakaway latch protects the cutterbar by allowing it to swing back if an object blocks the cutter path.

Double-edged, heavy-duty knives are reversible for twice the mowing life. Changing them is a snap; you don't have to raise the cutterbar like some competitors. Bolts are located on the top for easy removal with the disc in any position.

Heat-treated, conical-shaped knife bolts reduce wear and power-robbing crop hairpinning, while delivering excellent crop flow across the cutterbar.

Plugging is a thing of the past because there's no connection between the right end of the cutterbar and the canopy support.

Integrated rock guards and skid shoes are thick and wide for longer wear and extended life. Rock guard and skid shoe replacement is as easy as it gets—just remove two bolts to replace.

Cutterbar service couldn't get much easier. Check the oil in the modules every 50 hours with the convenient dipstick provided in the cap. Change the oil once a season or every 200 hours. For even more convenience, only one type of oil (80W90, GL5) is needed for all locations.

Exclusive V-belt tension spring has an easy-to-see tension indicator so you can check belt tension at a glance. Adjusting tension is easy too. There are no shields to remove. All it takes is a turn of a nut.

Jack stand storage and installation is convenient. Just remove a tethered pin to install the jack. Flotation spring force releases automatically.

Economy Models HM234, HM235 and HM236

Choose a high-value HM Series economy disc mower for smooth, fast disc cutting that goes easy on the wallet.

The enclosed gear-driven cutterbar provides years of reliable service, and the 540-rpm PTO driveline with overrunning clutch protects the tractor. Adjustable flotation spring(s) allow you to change cutterbar ground pressure.

A spring-loaded breakaway latch protects the cutterbar by allowing the mower to pivot back the when it encounters an obstacle. To re-engage the latch, simply back up.

A single-acting hydraulic cylinder makes it easy to lift the cutterbar at the end of each pass.

An articulation joint allows the mowers to operate

Four, five or six low-profile, oval cutting discs use two knives per disc to slice through wet grasses and break through ant hills and gopher mounds. Rock guards and skid shoes protect the discs and carry the cutterbar over uneven ground.

High-quality steel knives are reversible for twice the cutting life.

Three-point hitch mounting, two adjustable parking stands and a storage support for the PTO shaft make it easy to attach and remove HM Series mowers.
