A natural progression of superior performance

The blue utility tractors that farmers, landscapers and road crews have used for generations are now even more efficient and flexible. New T4000 Series utility tractors step up your game with increased power, enhanced efficiency and a broadened selection of models and options to match your needs exactly. Rugged construction, a heavy-duty driveline and a low-profile design make T4000 tractors the perfect choice for the farm and many other applications.

A lower center of gravity means you enjoy a more stable ride and can maneuver with confidence. With or without a cab, T4000 tractor models have a lower overall height profile than other utility tractors, so you work in low-clearance areas where other tractors can’t.

Select the front axle option that matches your needs:

  • 2WD - The economical, flexible 2WD axle is constructed of high-strength components and telescopes for a choice of eight track settings.
  • FWD - The rugged FWD axle is standard on T4050 and optional on other models.

SuperSteer™ FWD - The exclusive SuperSteer FWD axle (available on the T4030 and T4050) achieves a 76-degree turning angle, compared to the standard 55-degree angle, for the sharpest turns in the business. The SuperSteer axle articulates as it turns, allowing the outside wheel to move in front of the nose of the tractor and the inside wheel to move away from the tractor frame. This provides more tire clearance and a greater turn angle.

Also included in the SuperSteer FWD package is an exclusive Auto FWD system that engages front wheel drive only when needed—automatically—with an electro-hydraulic locking differential. This system improves traction, prevents turf scuffing, extends tire life and improves fuel economy. It’s an extra bonus for new operators or for fleets where many operators use the same tractor.

Hydraulic self-adjusting and self-equalizing brakes provide long life and high-performance stopping power. On models with electrohydraulic FWD engagement (included with the 23.5-mph transmission or SuperSteer) the front axle automatically engages when you press both brakes, effectively providing four-wheel braking—a real plus with heavy loads.

A fully independent, 540-rpm PTO is standard. An independent 540/1000-rpm shiftable PTO with interchangeable shafts is optional on the T4040 and T4050. The dry, 11-inch cerametallic PTO clutch is durable for long life in heavy-duty applications. Deluxe and SuperSteer models feature mechanical servo-assist engagement for low-effort operation and feathering.

The New Holland 810TL or 820TL front-end loader and a T4000 tractor are the perfect combination to boost your loading productivity.

Gutsy New Holland engines respond with smooth lugging power when you need it most. All T4000 engines meet Tier III emissions standards and are turbocharged and intercooled for increased fuel efficiency, torque response and decreased emissions.

B100 approved! As the biodiesel clean-energy leader, New Holland approves the use of farmer-grown B100 for all T4000 tractors.* By using clean-burning, environmentally friendly, biodiesel fuel you contribute to:

  • Cleaner air from reduced emissions
  • Reduced imports of foreign oil
  • The creation of new jobs and a boost for the economy
  • Increased demand for soybeans and other farm products used to produce biodiesel.

*Biodiesel must be high quality, produced to ASTM D6751 standards and purchased from a reputable supplier.

New responsive four-cylinder, 195-cubic inch displacement engines power the T4020 and T4030.

Proven four-cylinder, 274-cubic inch displacement engines power the T4040 and T4050. At 80 PTO horsepower, the T4050 combines big power with a maneuverable package that's ideal for landscapers, parks and golf courses.

A low 2300-rpm rated engine speed on all models reduces noise, vibration and engine wear.

A heavy-duty, cast-iron, parent-bore engine block is built for the long haul. The dry-sleeve design provides longer service life than competitive wet-sleeve engines, without the risk of coolant contamination.

A cross-flow cylinder head design keeps intake air cool and dense, resulting in superior combustion, maximum power production and exceptional fuel efficiency.

A premium Bosch rotary fuel-injection pump and five-hole injectors provide precise fuel metering and delivery into all cylinders.

The robust electrical system offers greater reliability with easier trouble shooting. Improvements include a heavier key switch, solid power shuttle engagement and new switches for seat and park brake.

Proven, high-precision T4000 transmissions are built for heavy-duty work and offer the easiest forward/reverse shuttling in the business.

They also feature:

  • Helical cut gears for smooth, quiet shifting
  • Forced lubrication for long life
  • A compact three-shaft design for improved ground clearance.
  • A dedicated, in-line, synchronized shuttle lever on the left-hand side of all models allows you to keep your right hand free for important things like steering and implement control.

A clutchless, electrohydraulic power shuttle is available on all models. The power shuttle lever is mounted on the left side of the steering column so you can operate it with your fingertips while keeping your hands on the steering wheel. The modulation of the two six-plate, wet disc clutch packs is electronically controlled for ultra-smooth direction changes.

The 12 x 12 Synchro Command™ transmission with mechanical shuttle is available only on ROPS models (not available on the T4050). It provides four synchronized speeds in each of three ranges. Competitive tractors limit your speed choices by providing only three synchronized shifts in each range. The synchronized mechanical shuttle lever is located to the left of the seat and utilizes an 11-inch cerametallic clutch.

The 16 x 16 Synchro Command transmission (optional on ROPS models, standard on the T4050 ROPS model and standard on cab models) is available with a mechanical or power shuttle. This transmission is ideal for a variety of jobs, offering eight speeds in the 2- to 8-mph working range, as well as three speeds below 1 mph for low speed applications.

A 23.5-mph top speed is standard on the T4050 and optional on other models equipped with the 16 x 16 transmission with mechanical or power shuttle to decrease travel time between job sites. Other T4000 transmissions offer a top travel speed of 18.73 mph.

Speed and range levers are located within easy reach of your right hand.

Step on the differential lock foot pedal to lock both rear axles together on-the-go when you need more traction. The diff lock automatically disengages when it’s no longer needed, or you can manually disengage it by tapping a brake pedal.

Whether you work with a front-end loader, three-point mounted implements or PTO-powered equipment, T4000 Series tractors have the hydraulic power it takes to get the job done.

Two hydraulic gear pumps generate a total flow of 20.2 to 25.5 gpm to give you faster cycle times to finish more work in less time.

A 16.1-gpm implement gear pump (standard on the T4040, the T4050 and all units equipped with a power shuttle transmission) feeds the remote valves, three-point hitch and optional loader.

A 9.4-gpm dedicated gear-type steering pump (7.4-gpm on the T4020 and T4030 with mechanical shuttle) allows for precise, low-effort steering. And the main hydraulic pump can be fully used for the work at hand.

A convenient Lift-O-Matic button allows you to raise or lower implements with the simple push of a button—a convenience not found on competitive-brand tractors.

A convenient, four-way joystick and two open-center, mid-mount loader valves make loader work a pleasure. This option is available from the factory or can be installed by your New Holland dealer.

Stackable rear remotes allow you to tailor the hydraulic system to match your needs. For tractors not equipped with a mid-mount loader valve, up to four rear valves are available.

A dealer-installed hydraulic flow control valve is optional.

Rear remote lever controls are located to the right of the seat. Their handles are color-coded to match the caps on the valve couplers at the rear of the tractor, so you’re always sure you’re using the correct lever.

Heavy-duty, telescoping stabilizers and flexible link ends simplify implement hook-up and allow for quicker implement swapping.

Lower link draft sensing allows you to operate the hitch in draft control mode, position control mode, or a combination.

An unmatched 3,962-pound three-point lift capacity allows you to take full advantage of the largest, widest implements for maximum productivity.

When creating the T4000 cab and platform layout, New Holland engineers used their understanding of human nature as much as their technical design expertise. From the roomy seating area and outstanding visibility to the intuitive placement of levers and controls, T4000 tractors help you perform your job with confidence and ease.

The sloped hood gives you visibility that exceeds what you’ll find on other tractors.

The shuttle lever, transmission levers and hydraulic handles are thoughtfully placed to come naturally to your hand.

The steering wheel both tilts and telescopes to allow every operator to find the perfect positioning.

Best-in-class lighting package means you enjoy that same view after dark on into the early morning. The unique New Holland headlight design illuminates both front and side, using two corner work lights that operate independently of the dual-beam headlights. Deluxe cab models also feature fully adjustable roof-mounted worklights—two front and two rear.

Cab

The T4000 Series cab provides supreme air quality and all-weather comfort.

Exclusive deluxe air filtration system is standard equipment on cab models. The system pulls outside air through two large anti-pollen cab air filters that block particles down to 0.3 microns. These filters, coupled with a high-capacity cab pressurizer, keep dust and dirt out so you can work more comfortably. Two cab air recirculation vents continue to filter the inside air and increase the efficiency of the heating and cooling. Charcoal filters are also available for even more complete filtration.

Standard heat and air-conditioning keeps the cab at a comfortable temperature in any weather.

42.7 square feet of tinted glass is more than you’ll find on other cabs, so you enjoy a better view in all directions. There are two wide-opening doors and a rear window that can be opened to three different positions—full, halfway or only a few inches for ventilation. A rear service window provides excellent visibility to the three-point hitch and implements.

A contoured, high-back, cloth-covered seat provides superb support. An optional air-ride seat is available for ultimate comfort.

The new analog digital instrument cluster provides critical performance information, all in a brighter display that’s clear and easier to understand. A digital display is provided for ground speed, and a second digital display allows you to toggle between PTO speed and time of day. Analog gauges report coolant temperature and fuel level.

ROPS

T4000 ROPS tractors feature a wide-open platform with plenty of legroom and hip room. The brake and clutch pedals are suspended for even more foot area.

It’s easy to get on and off the T4000 platform with steps on both sides of the tractor, a wide entry threshold, large grab handles and an uncluttered path in an out.

The standard mechanical-suspension seat is designed to keep you comfortable with generous lateral and vertical bolstering for support, as well as adjustments for operator height and weight. The seat glides on an inclined track for a proper positioning for arms and legs.

Bright, clear analog gauges report engine speed, coolant temperature and fuel level. Above the gauges, a bank of warning and indicator lights keeps you informed.

T4000 routine maintenance and trouble-shooting are as easy as can be. New Holland knows that when servicing is quick and easy, you’re more likely to keep up with daily maintenance checks.

Engine oil can be checked without raising the hood. A convenient dipstick is provided on the right side of the tractor.

The one-piece, easy-lift plastic hood makes it simple to get full service access. There are no tethers or side panels, and the hood is supported by a gas strut, so there are no prop rods to get in your way.

The electrical system is protected by convenient, automotive style fuses that are easy to access when needed. The new can-bus electrical system is standard on most models, and this system improves reliability and simplifies troubleshooting if required.

The radiator, A/C condenser, oil cooler and heavy-duty battery are mounted at the front of the tractor and can be checked easily when the hood is open. The hydraulic cooler slides out to the side for easy cleaning.

The fuel tank is easy to reach from the ground. Fuel tank capacity ranges from 19.8 to 23.2 gallons, depending on the model.

A single dipstick at the rear of the tractor allows you to check the transmission, hydraulic and steering oil levels.
